WARNING: Depiction of dismemberment and suicide

A very short game made in other than RPG Maker game engine, Maggot Feast, developed by Fangsoft, who also developed Lockheart Indigo in a same aesthetic way. Maggot Feast is a 5-minute short game, that gives you bad nerve or distressful in the end, about the main characters Joshua and Leo in on-and-off relationship, sometimes lovable. Leo ordered him to collect four objects for chopped off an unnamed person in order to feed the maggots in the dock. In that meantime, Leo was out of sanity for killing a person and still attempt to kill Joshua to feed them, but he still loved him deeply and kill himself with a knife instead. Joshua has nothing to do but love for Leo dearly.

Overall, it’s an interesting short game and main characters, alongside with music and art style as the previous project Fangsoft did. The psychological aspects of the atmospheric narrative and LGBT relationship with Joshua and Leo makes more (or less) emotional in the end, with the latter regrets everything what he did himself and the former was helpful and cherished to Leo as an only friend.

NOTE: Although I ignore this game a little bit, I was enjoyed a lot that much when I played with my sister.

RATING: ★★★★★
